Free Discount Tickets for Kids on Vacation
Kids don’t eat much. They don’t take up a whole lot of space. And, even better, they have to be accompanied by adults. Adults eat more. They take up more space. And, they have purchasing power.
Of course, what we’re getting at is this: retailers, restaurateurs, and attraction-owners love offering free things to kids. These free offers, discounted admission rates, et al are a sure-fire way of getting paying adults inside the doors. However, if you know how to work the system, you can end up saving a ton of money on vacation this way. Here are a few of our favorite tips about getting free and discount tickets with your kids…
- Most museums and other education-oriented attractions offer free admission for kids at least one day a month. It might be at an inconvenient time like Monday morning, but more often than not these free admission days will be on Saturday and Sunday. Find out when these free admission offers happen, and take advantage of them.
- We’ve all seen the “Kids Eat Free” signs for chain restaurants along the interstates. However, did you know that there are actually a lot of restaurants with these policies unadvertised? Check out mykidseatfree.com for full listings in your area/vacation destination.
- When getting around on vacation, you might choose to use public transport. In some cities, infants, children under the age of 12, and/or students with a high school ID can ride for free. If you plan on using public transportation on your next vacation, definitely look into this option!
